TOURISTS WITH THE TEAM
When the New Zealand team leaves for England towards the end of next month it will be accompanied by a number of enthusiasts, among whom will be some who have been prominent in the game either as players or officials. It is understood that H. E. Nicholls, whose omission from the list of selected players came as a surprise, contemplates making the trip to England, though, it may hot be as a member of the official party, as the New Zealand Rugby "Union has not yet received an application on hi-s behalf. These who travel with the team must receive the permission of the New Zealand Union, but as the complete party, including the players, will not exceed forty, there' will no doubt be many other New Zealanders who' will travel to England to see the All Blacks in action.,. The applications to travel with the team have been considerably in excess of the number for which pcr 7 mission can be granted. Two local enthusiasts who will travel with the team are Messrs. L. Simpson, who is well known throughout the Dominion'as a referee, and H. Murphy, a member of the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union. Mr. W. Dustin, who was a prominent footballer in the Wanganui and Manawatu districts, for a considerable time, is also making the trip. The appointment of a delegate to the Imperial Conference, to be -held in London about the end of the year, has not been made by the New Zealand Rngny Union. Mr. V. Meredith, of Auckland, ie available to act on.behalf of the VZ.R.U. in this capacity, and others reported to be available for the position of delegate include Messrs. S. Wilson (Canterbury) and H. Harris (Otago). Remits from New Zealand to the conference are to be drawn up shortly. . I
