PLAYER-WRITER CONTROVERSY CONTINUES. '

. ' NEW YORK, 12th June. Mr. George Wightman, president of the United States Lawn Tennis Association, announces the appointment of four members of a committee, who, with others of their own selection, will consider the interpretation of the playerwriter amateur rule now in controversy, and report in December. The men named are William Tilden and S. W. Merrihew, who are opposed to the prevailing interpretation, and J. W. Mersereau and Arthur Hellen, members of the amateur rules committee.
