BLINDFOLD CHESS RECORD
Alekhine, the Russian chess master, carried out the stupendous task of playing blindfolded twenty-six opponents in a successful attempt to breaK the world's record for blindfold chess. His opponents, who were chosen from various New York chess clubs, says "Reuters Special Service," used nine regular and five irregular openings. Except for. a short interval, the Russian chess cliampion played continuously for- twelve hours. His final score was 16 games won, 5 drawn, and 5 lost.
