INDUSTRIALISTS CONFER
PROTECTION WANTED FOIt GLASS BLOWERS.

AUCKLAND, 13th June. Ihe conference of the Industrial Corporate of New Zealand has concluded Ihe next conference and exhibition will be at Wellington. Mr. L. T. Watkins was elected president, and Mr. J. Findlav secretary. * J It was resolved to request the Government to permit the introduction to secondary and technical schools of educational matter dealing with New Zealand industries.
A motion of sympathy was passed with those in the glass bottle industry, and others in. a similar position who were struggling against overwhelming odds, and urging the Government to grant reasonable protection, and asking . further, that protection in any class of bottles, not yet manufactured, be withheld until local manufacturers are in a position to make adequate quantities, and on which tho Department of Industries reported a duty should be imposed.
