A GIGANTIC TASK
M. HERRIOT'S STATEMENT
SUPPORT PROMISED BY ! SOCIALISTS. . LONDON, 11th June. In an interview with the Paris correspondent of the "Daily Express," M. Herriot said : "We are assuming a gigantic task. The stitches have come out of everything. "I have a list of my colleagues in my pocket. None of them are Socialists, but that does not mean that there is the slightest divergence between my party and that of M. Blum. The Socialists have promised me support. My attitude towards Britain is- to associate myself with the British Government in order to put in" hand the immediate application of the experts' report. So far as Germany is concerned, we .are in favour of drawing, closer together. We shall do our best to bring about stable relations with i her." (REUTERS TELEQRAU.) PARIS, 11th June. M. Herriot will announce his Cabinet immediately the new President is elected. . He will adjourn Parliament after the briefest debate, to enable him to get in contact with the Allies. He hopes to go to London to see Mr. Mac Donald at the beginning of next week.
