ADVICE TO JAPAN NEW YORK NIPPON CLUB'S RESOLUTION HOPE OF FAVOURABLE OUTCOME. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.) (ADSTRAMAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) NEW YORK, 11th June. ■ A mass meeting of the Nippon Club, representing 3000 Japanese residents on the Atlantic seaboard, unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the exclusion law, but urging the citizens of Japan to abide by the circumstances patiently. The resolution was cabled to the new Cabinet and the Japanese newspapers. It deplores reciprocal passion, violence, and boycott retaliation, and de--scribes these as unworthy actions, setting violence against violence. It proceeds : "We criticise the anti-Japanese agitators, but apparently follow their narrow example. We hope the Japanese will, maintain their fortitude and patience 'in the present trying circumstances, treating others fairly and justly and practising restraint and calmness, in order that a favourable outcome of the situation may be ultimately attained." The resolution points out that this is likely, inasmuch as President Coolidge and Mr. Hughes have publicly disapproved exclusion.
