BRAWL IN FREDERICK STREET
An altercation between.' some .Hindu fruiterers-uTid three 'Englishmen in Fredeiick street on-'Monday -evening- of last ■week""resulted m the' appearance oTWalter Samuel",Green'before.Mr. E. Page, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day on the charge of assaulting Daji Parsotam. When the Englishmen were passing the Hindus, words were exchanged, and as a result, Parsotamreceived a s.calp wound from a broom handle, and rcedical" attention .was necessary. After hearing considerable' evidence, the Magistrate said defendant would have to be convicted, as he> thought there had been opportunity for. him to have- avoidedthe brawl. A fine of £5 was imposed. An order was made for half the amount of the fine to be paid to the injured man.
