LONDON, 7th May. Lord Ernie will succeed Viscount Ullswater in the presidency of the Marylebone Club.
'Rowland Edmund Prothero,, first Baron Ernie,''was born in 1852, and has had a varied Government and journalistic career. He is a barrister a-J.P.,' has been a member of Parliament, and at one lime played cricket for Hampshire. Lord ITUswater,'' better known as Mr. J. W. Lowther, has had an honoured political and legal career.
