INTERCESSORY SERVICE
The service of intercession held at midday in the Concert Chamber was largely attended. ' Mr. A. Varriey- presided. Prayer was offered by the Rev. Dr. Gibb, and Messrs. E. E. Pennington and W. B. Strong. The Scripture readings were: 19th Psalm, by the chairman ; John, 3:1-21, by Mr. J. Nicol; arid 11. Corinthians, 4th clip., by Mr. W. .1. Lees. Mr. J. Mann officiated at the piano in -the accompaniment of several well-known hymns. \
Cabinet to-day approved of a grant of £1000 for replacing equipment at the Motuihi Quarantine Station, Auckland.
In response to a request from a number of Potone residents, the V.M.C.A. has established boys' and young men's gymnasium classes at Petono. The classes were commenced on Tuesday evening last, with very satisfactory enrolments. The instruction has been undc/takon> by Mr. II J. Steptqe, assistant physical director of the Wellington V.M.C.A.
Some of the foxes reared on the fox farm on Prince Edward Tsland, in tho Gull of Newfoundland, ■ sell for as much as £7000 a pair. ■ ' .
