At Springfield the American Methodist Episcopal Conference' is considering a resolution .asking Congress to defeat the fifty-nine identical Bills urging modification of the Volstead Law, and to strengthen its enforcement by placing Prohibition agents under -the Civil Service. The resolution has aroused little objection, and is regarded as certain of adoption. ' . , ' further suggestions included the deportation of aliens and the disfranchisement of American citizens who persistly violate the Prohibition and narcotic laws. ' .'■ ■•'.■". ' . :.'.■■'■■
