THAMES, This" Day:: At last night's meeting of the Har-'' bour Board it was reported that thomoney representing tho first portion of , the harbour loan A to make a harbour" at Thames at a cost of £60,000, was now - practically in hand, and there was noth- ' ing to hinder the work,being started. A. committee set up to consider the position of an engineer recommended that Mr. E. F. Adams, of Thames, should bo offered the position of resident engineer at £500 per annum, and also thatan assistant-engineer should bo appointed, when required, at £550 per annum, lhe recommendations were adopted.
