. A meeting-of .the Dominion Executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was held at the Farmers' Institute Buildin' to-day. The president (Mr.: W. J. Pof .son), occupied • the chair.' A letter was read from the Minister of Agriculture, ' stating that he ' could not hold out any hope of v the charge for the inspection of bonedust1 being borne by the Consolidated Fund.y ; In a.-report received from' the Meat Producers' Board it was stated that the board s arrangement for the delivery ol single carcasses of prime New Zealand, lamb to any address in Great Britain foi a fixed sum of 33s is'still open, and has met with remarkable success.-. Special orders were taken 'for delivery during the recent Easter season at Home, which is practically the commencement of the lamb-eating season, and the number of individual orders which have now been-, handled by the board has reached a total of ,1400. _„ ■; ;■.;_■ '. . ;"; \ : . . Meat Producers' Board reported that it is now receiving from its Lon don office regular reports by'the inspector who was recently, appointed to watch th 6 unloading, of each vessel, at-the other end,- , The perusal of these reports, it .-is stated, shows how necessary it is for tho-Dominion to have a representative watching the discharge of each vessel at" Home. The presence of this' officer has already led to better handlino-, : and through,his.'reports .the .board has. been able to_ mstitute-'eeveral-improvements. ' He is also attending surveys for damage, and is thus in a,position to locate where I the damage occurs. - (Proceeding.)
