LODGE MEETINGS

Wellesley Lodge, No. 7 (juvenilo branch!, i.0.0.F., N.Z., held its bimonthly meeting last week, Bro. J. Chistensen, N.G., presiding. One juvenile member was reported on sick list. Two lads were nominated' for membership. The membership competition resulting in a tie, it was extended for another month. After completing business, a word-build-ing competition was held, Bros. J. G. M'Gregor and. M. Meech securing the prizes. A past grand's collar was presented to Bro. M'Gregor,-first J.P.Gr. of the lodge, presentation being made by Bro. H. Finch, P.W.D.G.M.

The second meeting of ' Rose of Wellington, Rebekah Lodge, No. 38, 1.0.---0. F., N.Z., was held on Tuesday evening, Sister E. Maley, N.G., presiding. Two candidates were, elected and initiated, ■ and several committees required by the constitution were set up for the current term. Arrangements were also' instituted for entertaining members of kindred lodges at. a social evening next meeting.

Cleveland Lodge, No. 13, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting at Brooklyn on Wednesday ovening, Bro. J.T. M'Girinity, N.G., presiding. Two members were reported sick/, and relative drafts passed. One candidate was elected and initiated. \ After completing essential business^ a lodge team captaineci by'Bro. J. Pridmore defended the district 500 shield against Muritai Lodge 113, Eastbourne, whose team was in charge of Bro. E. D. Turner. This was the first.occasion Muritai Lodge has entered the 500 competitions since its institution^ and it was proved that a formidable competitor has arisen, its team taking homo the shield on a .score of 8 points to 4.

Zealandia Lodge, No. 48, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting on Thursday evening, Bro. H. Guyton, >'.G., presiding. In addition to other, business, four members were reported sick and relative sict drafts passed, also' three candidates nominated. In addition to visiting -members, from' local ledge's, Bro. Cassidy, of Hastings, and Bro. F. Wilkinson, Grand Secretary, Dunedin,'.-were,.present." In the: course cf a few remarks, the Grand Secretary indicated th.at membership of the Order had-increased by 700 odd during the preceding year, and the consolidated tunds by ,£16,000. At the conclusion of the meeting the lodge entertained members of the Order and friends with a social and dance.
