ALTERATIONS TO RULES,
At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Hockey • Association, Mr." 8,. L. Thompson presided over a full attendance of members. '\ The action of the chairman in arranging for free admission to the Bashi Reserve for the match, Fleet v.: Wellington, and for conveyance and .entertainment of the; Naval team was approved. ' The Ruakawa ; Girls' , Hockey Club ■wrote asking for advice in regard to the game, and also.for a'book of rules, and the secretary _ was instructed to: give every assistance ■in his power. Mr. Strack,' delegate to the New Zea-_ land_ Hockey Association, wrojfce giving details of the annual■'■ meeting, and also forwarded alteration^ to rules passed at that meeting., . One of these alterations limits the age' Of players in any match for the Zanol Cup. Wellington did net lavour this alteration, holding that a man was playing in" the junior grade from the point of view of his merit as •\ player, and not'on account of his age. The rule as altered will relegate to the bank,-as- far as representative games are concerned,; some of: the best players in Wellington. Mr.. Strack'also reported that challenge rules would be suspended ! for the present season, and-that "a tournament would be held at a place and under conditions to be decided by the executive. • '/" "!-■ : ■
