UNIVERSITY TOURNAMENT
PUBLIC DEBATE,
■ A feature of the coming annual tournament ampiigst representatives of . the four university colleges', will be the debate in the large-Town Hall on the evening of Easter Monday. The Jtlayor (Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P.) will, preside, and the contest will be judged by Sir John Findlay, X.C, Dr. V. 11. Buck, and Mr." H. P. Richmond. The last-named gentleman was chairman of the Victoria College Debating Society during the- first year, of its existence The subject selected, for debate this year is "That Modern. Journalism js a Menace to Democracy.' Victoria College will be represented .by Messrs. P. Martin-Smith and R. M. Campbell. The public-are invited to attend this fixture. ■ ■ . ' ' ■ -' The boxing tournament in the Town Hall1 next Saturday evening, and the athletic championship contests at Athletic Park on Easter. Monday should also draw I large crowds. '
