WARNINGS FOR GALE
.Cloudy and overcast skies have ruled during the past twenty-four hours, and rairi has fallen ;in the 'West ,Coast districts. .-.Fresh northerly, winds- have prevailed, - and', atmospheric pressure has shown a decreasing tendency. The forecast of the Dominion Meteorologist, Mr. D. C: Bates, is for north to westerly winds; moderate .to strong north of New Plymouth and Napier, and ; strong to gale elsewhere. The barometer m the- Northern districts has a falling tendency, and is unsteady in the South, probably falling.again shortly. Warnings for a northerly galo have been exhibited ;at .Castlepoinf and all the South Island lighthouses. Warm and humid'conditions | are likely to prevail in the East Coast districts. , ' ■ '.
