SYDNEY'S BRIDGE
RISE IN PROPERTY VALUES
(FKOM OHS OWN CORRESPOKDENT.) SYDNEY; 3rd April. Tho influence of the proposed Sydney Harbour Bridge' has: already made itself felt, especially in the direction' of real estate deals in North Sydney, now to be linked up with the city by one of the biggest. structures in' the -world. The proposed removal of, the Mason's Point train; tiam, and ferry terminal to Lavender Bay, almost within a stone's throw away, has had a remarkable effect. Fifty feet of land near.the newterminal brought £60 per foot a few days ago. As with the. rub of the magic lamp, the owner of that allotment has come into money undreamt of before the bridge was planned. Ordinarily, £60 per. foot for the land in question would be laughed at. It is a first sign o£ a new shopping area that will spring into being •in this neighbourhood. Speculators are now busy I with the idea of getting their return during the building of the bridge. Kir-' Tibllli. the nearest residential area to the city on the North. Shore from ' Circular quay, and one of the aristocratic quarters—the Governor-General lives there at Admiralty House when in. Sydneywill also largely benefit. Only recently a fair-sized block there brought £50 per foo^t. The erection og the Kirribilli railway station will give "this area direct communication with the city over the ■ bridge, and also with, the suburbs.1 For. those who are shrewd .and far-seeing tliere are as many opportunities for speculation and riches iii Sydney to r day as there were'in the long years, ago when city sites,,.then,, bullock .-. were sold for a song.
