TANNERIES FIRE
(BT TELEGRAPH.—FKESS ASSOCIATION.! OHBISTCHtTRCH,. 11th April. The estimated loss at' the;. Woolston Tanneries fire is £45,000, which is about £10,000 above the loss afc the January fire. Very, few men are thrown out of j work, as the company is arranging to continue temporarily. .The London and Lancashire Insurance Company, • which held the .policies for the buildings' destroyed in the, January fire, hold insurances on the buildings burned last night, but it is understood the policy, as in the previous instance, was underwritten with other firms. The amounts were: No. 1 building (carrying department, warehouse, and offices), £5000 on building, £3900'0h plant, and £10,000 on stock; cooperage, £400 on . building, £160 ton ..plant, £450 on stock; house, £40 on building, £70 on plant, and £960 • .n stock.
