CHRISTCHURCH, 9th April. At the Addington market to-day heavy yardings were the rule in all classes of stock. Fat cattle, fat lambs, and fat sheep were slightly firmer, whilst store ewes were easier, but. other sections of store sheep sold keenly. Store Sheep.—Another large entry from all quarters of the North Lsland, ■Nelson, Marlborough, West. Coast, the Chathams, and southern provinces. The demand in the earlier stages'wa's slow, but brightened up. ' Most of the outside sheep' were of poor "class. Values for ewes were lower than1 in the preceding week by Is to 2s per head. Ewe lambs and adult wethers were better. Extra good two-toothed halfbred ewes made 44s to 47s 6d, ordinary two-toothed halfbred ewes 31s to 38s 6d, two-toothed Romney cross ewes 30s to 38s 6d,. inferior and low-conditioned two-toothed Romney cross ewes 26s 6d to 295, fairly good four,'six, and eight-toothed Romney cross ewes 29s 6d to •■ 34s 6d; lowconditioned inferior four; six, and eighttoothed ewes 22s 6d to 275.; good four, six, and eight-toothed crossbred ewes, 29s to 32s 6d, six and eight-toothed halfbred ewes 28s 6d ,to 345, failing-mouthed : halfbred ewes 25s 6d to 28s 9d, failingmouthed three-quarterbred ewes 20s to 25s 6d, aged ewes 10s to 18s 9d. Good forward lambs 22s to 255, fairly good 20s to 21s 9d, medium 17s 6d to 19s'6d, cull 13s to 15s 6d, good halfbred ewe lambs 29s 3d, inferior 22s 6d to 255, crossbred ewe lambs 21s to 25s 6d. Good forward four,.-six, and eight-toothed wethers 30s' to 325, two-toothed halfbred wethers 24s to 26s 6d, inferior four, six, and pighttoothed wethers 22s to 235.~ '■- Fat Lambs.—Just on 3000 were yarded and there was a slightly better market. The quality was moderately good and prices iftiproved, especially for good stuff..- Rnn ners made £5 12s 6d, vealers £3 10s to £4 10s, good calves £2 to £3 ss, small 10s to£l 10s. Store.'Cattle.—The entry and the quality were better than usual, and the demand was a little keener. Two-year steers made £2 15s to £3 ss, yearlings 17s 6d to £1 ss. Two-year heifers £3 30s to£4, yearlings £1 5s to £2, good, cows £2 to £2 ss, poor to medium 15s to £1 ss. , ■ ■ Dairy Cattle.—An entry of 64 consisting mainly of backward classes and cows in milk. Second arid third calvers, springing, made £6 15s to £9 10s, good heifers, springing, £6 to £10, extra good £14, medium £3 to £5 10s, cows in milk and backward £2 to £5. Fat'Pigs.—A small entry. There was a good demand and prices were very firm. . Choppers made £2 6s to £5 13s, light baconers £3'lss to £4 ss, heavy £4 10s>-to £4 15s, extra heavy £5 -to £5 10s (average price per lb 6jd to 6|d), light, porkers £2 10s to £2 17s 6d, heavy £3 to £3 12s (average price per lb 8d to 9d). , , Store Pigs.—A medium entry and a good demand.
