WELLINGTON NORTH
RATEPAYERS MEET. x
General satisfaction was expressed at a meeting of the .Wellington North Ratepayers' Association, when it' was announced that the City Council was endeavouring to acquire the acute-angled corner at' Grant road and Park street with a view of carrying out improvements. ' - In' regard to the proposed Bowen street route, it was agreed that the association should give' the council all the assistance in its power, and a resolution was adopted to that effect. The association does not approve of the suggestion that the tram to Karori should be diverted through Hill street. The meeting was of the opinion that applications for the position of City Engineer should be invited from the whole of the Dominion, and from abroad. Inquiries are to be made of the City Council as to what steps are being taken to provide access to Kelburn and the higher levels via the Mount street and Plunket street route, advocated by the late City Engineer. .
