According/to the "Sunday Chronicle," Mr.' Clark, M'Conachy, the New -Zealand billiards' champion, stands a poor chaiice' of'success in the coming championship.In this season's competition, Newman, Recce, arid M'Conachy are the only players. , The . paragraph, in the ''Sunday Chronicle" runs: ".Clark M'Conachy the New Zealander, who failed 'badly 'two years ago, has been utilising his ' first week in England since arriving from South Africa'in assiduous practice. Mainly a- red ball player,, he is, from what has' been .seen a greatly-improved exponent. ■ Firstly, however, he has to become accustomed to ivory balls ; secondly, a great one-stroke player, George Gr/iy, was lost in the' championship when he made a bid; and,.thirdly, the colonial is not in the same class as Newman, whom' he meets in the first round on 7th April "
