EX-CONSUL'S SUICIDE

Richardson, iate United States Vice-Consul at Auckland, committed suicide on the train eh route to Washington, where he planned to take Civil Service examinations. His relatives declare that they believe he was temporarily deranged through over-study. The body has been shipped to his parents in San Francisco. (Received 9th April, 8 a.m.) NEW YORK, 7th April. In lucid moments before his death Mr. Richardson declared that lie had been duugged. The police who aro investigating the case believe that he had somehow been the victim of foul play, but expect great difficulty in proving it in. view of his condition.
