GENERAL INCREASES RECORDED.

Lloyd s returns show that ships aggregating 1,473.000 tons were constructed in the United Kingdom during the'past quarter, an increase of 78,000 tons, compared with the previous quarter; and a decrease of 19,000 tons compared with the corresponding quarter twelve months ago. The total includes 101,000 tons on which work is.suspended. The tonnage launched in the past quarter totalled 361,000, compared' with 114,----000 in the previous quarter. , nrio enn^ tal- t? nnaee building abroad is 1,042,000, including 118,000 on which work is suspended. Germany and Danzig head the list, with 299,000 tons The tonnage launched abroad was 188;OC0.
