DELHI, 7th April. News has been received of the murder of the Mahant in charge of the famous Sikh shrine at Manokna, the birthplace of the Sikh religion. It is alleged that Akahs, armed with axes, smashed the Mahant s head. The cause of the dispute is unknown. The Deputy-Commis-sioner of Police and the Superintendent at Sheikhupura have reached the spot and an investigation has commenced .It is recalled that two years ago Manokna was the scene of a horrible tragedy, resulting in the death of 200 d fi IS4 fc v.the handS of Nathans, hired by the Mahant Naraindas Nankana The tragedy was the beginning of a serious Akali agitation in Punjab
