BYLAW BREACHES

Braches of the bylaws were dealt with by Mr. C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., yesterday afternoon. I Failure to register dogs cost Arthur G. Gifford, Isidore- Hyman, and John Weaver each 10s and costs. . A fine of £1 was imposed on Carl Pedersen, who had boarded a tram whibt it was in motion. For permitting a chimney to catch' fire, Mary Hastings was fined £1 and costs. Breaches of the motor bylaws were dealt with as follow :—Curs unlighted • Ernest William Trengrove, Gordon Saunders, Arthur Moody Holmes, Sidney Kirkcaldie, Alexander Reith,' Dominion Motor Vehicles, Ltd., each fined 10s and | costs; Rowland Wilson and Kenneth Luke, each 5s and costs. Motor-truck number not easily distinguishable: Albert Charles William Bolton, io 3 ' an d costs. Driving through prohibited areaErnest Robert Chapman, 5s and costs' Excessive speed: Richard Noon, £1 10a and costs. Failing to stop when requested: Norman Maunsell Smyth, £1 anc j costs. Failing to notify change of own ership of motor-cycle: J. H. Thomas, 10s and costs.

At the Mount Cook Police Station today. John Fairley, alias John Clark a second offender for drunkenness, was convicted and discharged by Mr- G Petherick, J.P.
