EMPRESS THEATRE.
The well-known stage success, "Within the Law," now in film form, makes a stirring drama, now screening at the Kmprees Theatre. Norma Talmadge heads a splendid cast, and her acting as Mary Turner leaves nothing to be desired. Mary Turner, the employee in a big firm, is wrongly accused of theft and sentenced, to imprisonment. On her release she and a coterie of fellows of misfortune commence a system of blackmail, always keeping within the law, however. There is a fine programme of newsy and amusing items, while the orchestrations by Mr. Matt. Dixon and • his players contribute in no small way to the enjoyment of patrons.
