LABOUR AND LENIN
MR. M'COMBS'S PROTEST
PARTY EXECUTIVE TO REPORT.
Apparently more is to be heard about the protest which Mr. J. M'Combs Labour M.P. for Lyttelton, made against the action of the executive of the New Zealand Labour Party in forwarding-a cablegram to Russia sympathising with the people in the death of Lenin.
The matter was discussed at the last meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Labour Party in Wellington, when the secretary brought forward all the correspondence relating to The controversy between the executive and Mr M'Combs. The " New Zealand Worker states that after a brief discussion it was unanimously agreed that the vhole circumstances connected with the executive's action, and Mr. M'Combs's objection thereto, would be embodied in the executive report to the annual conference. Ihe annual conference of the party will be held at Easter. The Hutt Labour Representation Committee, at a recent meeting, endorsed the action of the National Executive in sending the Russian cable, it bein^ pointed out that "such little acts oi comradeship, simple though they may appear to be, would play a big part in the construction of that spirit of internationalism so essential to future civilisation."
