PHENOMENA OF SOCIAL DECLINE.

Tinkham a member of the aonse of Representatives, and a member of the American Bar Association has issued a statement showing that 2COO per cent, more murders occurred in Washington 1922 than in London, which had 28 compared with Washington s 38, although London had 16 times more population. Washington also had 300 per cent, more drunkards than f all?- ?°lice statistics show that crime in Washington is increasiinr more rapidly than the population. Mr. Tinkham in his statement, added : "Many causes may be assigned for these amazing and portentous, phenomena of American social decline, the chief of which are the entry ot the church into politics, and the loss of popular respect for the present Congressmen and the laws which they pass ruthlessly destroying the rights of individuals- and property." Mr. Tinkham also blames Prohibition.
