AUCKLAND, 17th March.
Arne Borg, the Swedish, swimmer, who arrived from Sydney by the Niagara, competed in scratch invitation races, held by the Auckland Centre at the Tepid Baths to-night. He won the hundred yards in 56 4-ssec, from Kronfeld, whose time was 60sec. Enright was a close third. Borg also won the 220 yards in 2min 21 3-ssec, against Kronfeld's New Zealand record, of 2min 35 2-ssec. Kronfeld. who was second, broke his own record by 3 4-ssec. Fairgray, receiving 2sec from Borg in a 100 yards back-stroke handicap, won easily by more than his start in 72 3-Ssec —an Australasian record. Borg is a through "passenger by the Niagara.
