SPORTS MEETING AT TAIHAPE
CLOSE FINISHES IN MOST EVENTS.
TAIHAPE, 17th March.
The Taihape St. Patrick's Day Axemen and Athletic Club's big meeting was brought to a close to-day in glorious weather. There was a large'attendance, and everything passed off without a hitch. The finishes in most of tile events wore exciting, especially in the Sheffield Handicap, inches separating the- placed men. Protests have beeij entered in connection with the 14-inch standing chop and 12-inch chop events, and have yat to be adjudicated. Results are as tollow :— 75yds Handicap.—J. E.
