CABLE STEAMER IN PORT
An arrival in port on Saturday afternoon was Iho Eastern Extension Telegraph Company's cable steamer Patrol, from the Tasman Sea, where 'sne has been working on cables for the past few days. She berthed later at the Pipitea Wharf. Her work in ihe Tiisman Sea had been somewhat delayed by rough weather, and she was compeTied to stand-by for three days. The vessel will remain at Wellington for three g four days, and will then return to hei base at Singapore, via Australia. Captain F. Brendenberg is in charge of the Patrol, and he has with him the follow ing officers. Chief, Mr. H. A. Davison;' second, Mr. H. G. Gardiner; third, Mr. H. F. P. Albrocht; chief electrician, Mr. R. H. Ellis; second electrician, Mr J. Gamble; ship's doctor, Dr. M. j! ltattray; chief engineer, Mr. D. Kussell; second, Mr. D. D. Barrett; third. Mr. J. B. Quinn; fourth, Mr. J. Best; purser, Mr. J. P. Jones. The crew comprises Malay seamen, and Chinese cooks and stokers. The Patrol covers an area comprising the Indian Ocean, the China Sea, and Australasia.
