WEATHER IMPROVES
Tho weather locally is now in the nature of a calm after the storm, today's sunshine making a very acceptable chuugfl from the cold and boisterous weather experienced last week. The report from the Meteorological Office is to the effect that a southerly set in on Saturday, and brought cold and damp weather with heavy showers in most parts of the country. The showery conditions continued in several places until this morning- Tin* indications point to a brief spel) of fair to clnudy weather. The barometer is lvfcely to rise further in the north and fall shortly in the south, when south-easterly -winds will back by east to north. A very cold niprht may "be expected generally.
