At Clearwatei', Florida, in- the first day's play of the West Coast open championship, of which Walter Hngen is the present holder, Johnny Farrell led the 'lieW on the first day, making tho morning round in 66, lowering the comae, record by two strokes. His first day's score totalled 137. J. H. Kirkwood's score whs 147, and liayen's 148. On the second day Farrell's card read 146, and he eventually Won the chain, pionship with 283. Hagen was second with 290, and -Kirkwood fifth with 296. M'Kcuden's score was 293 and Hnvers's 306.
