PREPARING FOR COMPETITORS
ACCOMMODATION FOR NEW ZEALANDERS. *
(UNITED I'RKSS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZCAI.AND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 15th March. The British Olympic Association has reserved accommodation at the St. James, Normandy, Continental,, and St. Petersburg Hotels, Paris, for the Australian and New Zealand Olympic athletes and has also provisionally taken two houses at the Olympic village, adjoining the stadium, to provide resting places for the competitors and a rendezvous for tho officials. The Athletes' Association is at present seeking accommodation in London adjacent to the running tracks and swimming baths, where the Dominion competitors will train prior ito their departuro for Paris. Regarding a suggestion that the United Kingdom and Dominions should participate in a march past as a united Empire team, to which all the Dominions agreed, it is now pointed out that it is doubtful whether' the necessary alteration in the International Committee's rules can be effected in time, owing to the committee's meeting not taking place until a few days before the opening day. Furthermore, it may be necessary for the Dominions to unanimously express a desire before tho rule can be altered. The association is circularising the Dominions suggesting that all British competitors should wear a | small Union Jack on their costumes.
