QUEEN'S THEATRE.
The tragedy of the rise and fall of a beautiful woman's life is cleverly depicted by the unconscious action of another woman with ;i flower—in "The' Silent Partner," a Paramount picture, now showing at the Queen's Theatre. Cora Dredge's husband is a stock gambler. Luck has turned against him, and they are reduced to poverty. Lisa, played by Leatrice Joy, carries flowers to the squalid tenement room where Cora lies ill in bed. On arriving there, she learns that her own husband has given up his business position to start speculating. As she sits dejected, she touches the flower Cora Dredge has given her. Unconsciously she clutches it while fighting to control lier tears. As she realises what she has in her hand, all the horror of what she saw that afternoon comes over her. The iisual supports, together with a specially selectud musical programme, conclude a first-class bill.
