LIQUOR TREATY
RATIFIED BY AMERICA,
WASHINGTON, 13th March. The Senate .ratified the treaty between Britain and the United States authorising the search and seizure of suspected liquor craff beyond the threemile limit.
The treaty provides for the search of British vessels suspected of carrying liquor anywhere within a distance from the coast of the United States which can be traversed in one hour by the vessel suspected. Such vessels may be seized and .detained in American ports until the charges against them are adjudicated.
