The Mid-Canterbury Farmers' Unioi to-day discussed the Governments-reply in regard to the price to. be", paid "" for wheat at next harvest. Mr. \V.' Hall, chairman of the recent Cliristchurcli Conference, wrote stating that the effect of the Government's decision" was to" reduce the price next harvest to 4s_.7Jd. He did not think that many farmers would waste money growing wheat. ' After discussion, during .which...lhe growers expressed relief that they. at least knew definitely where they stood, the meeting resolved : "That this union accepts the decision of the Goverament."- ' - • - ■
