EARLY SETTLERS' ASSOCIATION
The Early Settlers' and Historical Association of Wellington will hold its next meeting on Tuesday evening next at Dustin's Room, Cuba street. The evening, which should be of considerable interest, will be devoted to a talk on the life, and general conditions on board the early vessels arriving at Port Nicholson—viz., the Aurora, Bengal Merchant, and Adelaide (1839-40)— from diaries kept from day to day on board. A comparison with conditions of to-day will prove of unusual interest, especially to those who have made recent voyages. Members and friends interested in early times are invited to attend.
