SELWYN CLUB
The twenty-second . meeting of the Selwyn Football Club was held in Scott's Tea Rooms on Friday; evening. Thcie were some seventy members and slipporters 'of the 'club present. Mr. H. Buck presided. The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. It was decided to accept Mr. Cook's resignation, of the 'secretaryship of the club, he being compelled to relinquish his . position owing" to ill-health. Mr. Buck, in speaking of the progress of the club during the past season, stated' that eight teams of every grade had been maintained on the field, and although none had gained championship honours they all acquitted themselves well, especially the sixth grade boys, who had been runners-up in - the championship. Their success was largely due to the thorough manner in which the coaches had done their work. The finances of the club were in a very sound position, there being a credit balance on hand of £97. -

Draper, Hands, Wiseby, Murray. ; It, was decided to accept the invitation of the Pirates Club, Wanganui, to play there at Easter, and also to invite the Raetihi Club to send a team down to play Sehyyn on, Easter .Saturday. ■The notice of motion put forward by the Old Boys' Club in: connection with the. transfer, of. a player from one club to_ another was discussed. -It. iinaliy decided to support, an amendment of. the motion, so th-ii the rule.\be not restricted -..to senior ' players,' .the; amendinenti to read as follows-—"Except as aforesaid no transfer of'any player, from one club to another club shall-be granted unless at .least six-months', notice in vriting shall have been, given by puch player to. the Management Committee of the union."
