THREE RACES TO L. A. TRACY.

The Canterbury Amateur Athletic Championships were held at Lancaster Park this afternoon. The weather was extremely hot and the track was in good' order for fast times. Interest was added to the meeting by the presence of L. A. Tracy (Wellington) and E. V. Dunbar (Duntroon Military College), who represented England at the last Olympic Games. Following are championship results :— 220 Yards.—L. A. Tracy (Wellington), 1; Goodman, 2; Rigden, 3. Won easily by seven yards. Time, 22min 3-ssec. 880 Yards.—C. H. Taylor, 1; Lockwood, 2; Brattington, 3. Won easily. Time, 2min 2 2-ssec. 440 Yards Hurdles.—C. E. Low, 1; Calder, 2. Won by two yards. Time, 59 l-sscc. 120 Yards Hurdles.—C. E. Low 1. Time, 18 2-Ssec. One Mile.—A. E. Laing, 1; Large 2; Wood (Ashbuvton), 3. Won by 30 yards. Time, 4min 40sec. 100 Yards.—U A. Tracy (Wellington), 1; Maxwell, 2; Mackwc-11, 3. Won by four yards. Time, 10 l-ssec. 100 Yards (ladies). —Miss Grant, 1; Miss F. Maxwell, 2; Miss Tarpey, 3. Won by a foot. Time, 12 2-sscc. Mile Walk.—A. M. Page, 1; T. Whitell, 2 Won by 20 yards. Time, lmin " 27 4-sscc. 440 Yards.—L. A. Tracy, 1; C. H Taylor, 2; Rigden, 3. An exciting finish. Won by six inches. Time, 52sec. Throwing the Javelin.—Dunbar (East Sydenham, Sydney), 147 ft sAin, 1 ■ J W. H. Buckhurst, 121 ft 9iin., 2. J. M'Holm won throwing-the-hammer and throwing-thc-discus, W. H. Hall (Otago University) being second in each case. • : • Hall and Buckhurst tied in the lone jump. ' '
