LODGE MEETINGS
The monthly meeting of Wellington District (No. 5) Lodge, 1.d.0.F., N.Z. was held on Monday evening, the Bis-* trict Deputy Grand Master (Bro. F. N. Lee, P.G.) presiding. Among other business transacted,, two members of Southern Cross Lodge, No. 24, were advanced to Royal Blu e degree, amended rules for district 500 Shield competitions were adopted, and preliminary arrangements were made for entertaining the Grand Master (Bro. M. J. Hooper Auckland), who will return here after a brand Lodge executive meeting in the south. ■■■ ■ , Cleveland Lodge, No. 13, I.O.OJ? N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting ai Brooklyn on Wednesday evening, Bro J. T. M'Ginnity, N.G., presiding. After completing routine business the lodge went into harmony. The fortnightly meeting of Mnritai Lodge, No. 113, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held at Eastbourne on Wednesday evening, Bro. J. C. E. Turner, N.G., presiding. There was a large attendance of members, and in addition to other business three candidates were initiated. This lodge is to be congratulated on the steady, membership progress made since its institution last October. Zealandia Lodge, No. 48, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting on Thursday evening, Bro. W. Guyton, N.G., presiding. , In addition to routine business, one candidate was elected and "initiated, and six furttier candidates nominated. Officers of Zealandia No. 48 and Southern Cross No. 24 Lodges are busily perfecting themselves in the initiation ritual work, the former having challenged the latter for the district chaplain's'gong. The competition will take place on 27th instant, Bros. H Dames P.G. (Cleveland), J. C. E. Turner, N.g! (Muritai), and W. Lester, P.G. (Star of Waikato) being judges, and is creating keen interest among the several local lodges of the order.
