BIS-. CARNIVAL TO-MORROW*.

- The arrangements, for tl^e Wellington Swimming Centre's Carnival-at Te Aro ; Baths to-morrow afternoon are-com--plete, and . the^indications are that the ; meeting will be successful 'from every point of view. The.' prospects of fav.oprable weather,are decidedly good and a large attendance of- the public should ;be attracted to the baths. A feature of the carnival will be the attendance ofbouthern swimmers,'who have been com: petmg at the national championships at -Wanganui, and their participation-shonld lend added, interest to the very fine programme of events, that has been drawn up. Wellington and Canterbury will compete for possession of the Norden Cup, and as both provinces have entered strong teams the competition •should be keen. : Although Canterbury have the- greatest number of successes to their credit in this competition, the Wellington team is confident that "it will be able to. effect a.change this year. Champions who will be- competing at themeeting include Miss Gwitha 'Shahd, the crack lady swimmer, Miss Jepsoh, the :fast Otago swimmer, C. Atkinson, C. Herd, N. Batchelor, D.-. Lindsay, S. Loader, and W. Keesing, all of whom registered good performances at Wanganui. .In addition, Wellington's leading swimmers. will be seen in action in all the events. .Racing will commence at 2.30 o'clock, and the various events will ■be got off well, up to tune.
