BRISBANE, This Day. The Lander .Oil Company reports striking oil at a depth of 2200 feet at Oralla, thirty miles from Roma. Oil and gas are coming to the surface in such quantities as to make further boring dangerous until the' bore is properly cased. ,
The Minister of Mines regards the find as important—the most promising evidence of the discovery of oil in possible payable quantities yet reported in Australia.
