SYDNEY, 30th January. The Sheffield Shield cricket match was concluded in fine weather, the' wicket showing signs of wear. , New South Wales, in the second innings, made 321 (Kippax 65, Hendry 73). Hartkopf took four wickets for l?0 and Wallace'.five for 99.' The Kippax-Hendry partnership produced g sound, solid cricket. Hendry batted pluckily after Kippax was dismissed, at times aggressively. He was 123. minutes at the wickets.
Victoria, in the second innings, made 195 for two wickets. (PonSford not out 110, Love not out 43, Woodful 30). The scoring opened very slowly, owing to the keenness of the New South Wales fieldsmen. Ponsford played 'a splendid innings, batting soundly and occasionally brilliantly, in We over scoring 17. Victoria won by eight wickets.
