NGAIO PUBLIC HALL
SPECIAL, LOAN OF £5000.
Last year, owing to repeated inquiries and requests, 'the Ngaio Progressive Association took into consideration the question of erecting a public hall in Ngaio, and has since been fortunate in securing a suitable site in the centre of the township. . The site faces the new subway road, and is marked by two pegsj^the hall is to be placed between them and the culvert. " The association was also fortunate in preventing spoil being deposited on the, site, thus saving costly foundation work. The proposal to build a hall in wood was not welcomed by the city authorities, and after mature consideration, it was decided to build in brick. Plans have been prepared, which provide fdr a commodious hall with supper and 'reading rooms attached. The latter are veiy important, as they will enable a branch of the Public Library to be formed, and the reading-room will doubtless be appreciated by all. A public meeting will be held shortly to bring fnll details bofore the electors. After the poll there should be no need to delay the building.
