ANNUAL PICNICS

_<The annual picnic of the ■Wellington' Transport Workers, including watersiders, seamen, and drivers, was held yesterday at Rona Bay. Sports . were held I on the Rona Bay Recreation Ground, events being provided for all, including the children. It is estimated that over ?B<jp. people journeyed across the harbour. J> •_ The fifth annual staff picnic of the Dominion Mercantile Agency, Ltd., was held, on Tuesday at Golden Gate, near fahautanui. A very happy day , was spent amongst beautiful surroundings and; bathing and boating added considerably to the day's enjovment. In the evening the party was entertained by Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Hodgson at their home in Kliandallah. The day had been I , a very happy one, but the evening proved, every bit as enjoyable. Some excellent music was rendered bv members of the staff, and dancing w*as most popular. , °
