ANNUAL PICNICS

The employees of the Wellington Cfas Company held their annual picnic at Afaidstone Park yesterday, when, a particularly pleasant day was spent. ~ The children were well catered, for, and were each given a Substantial supply of toys and sweets. Excellent work was done by the picnic officials, and everything was run to time-table. Following arc the results of tho principal events:— 100 yds handicap (employees only) : S.Fi.obb, 1; E. Tug-of-war-. Six teams entered for this- event, the captains being Kellehov, Chant, Brock, Moloney, King, and Woolcutt. 'Tlie team skippered by Chant won 3 out of. 5 pulls. The T'ua Tora Lodge' No. 3, R.A.0.8., held its annual picnic on the Hutt Park at the week-end, ten motor buses "conveying the picnickers to the ground, where a lengthy sports programme was "decided. Everything being provided by the lodge, the committee were kept busy in catering for the wants of the members and their wives, children, and friends. The thanks of the committee is extended to the following, who kindly donated trophies, etc:—Mrs. Burns, Messrs. Goldingham,and Beckett, Simmonds and Osborne, Walshore, Frobisher, Maybury, Rosenburg, Fisher, Wallace, Kent. Black,' Rawlins, Brown, Olliver, Brockie., Donnelly, Gasgoine, Oxenham.
