EARL OF CASSILLIS
NOTED SCOTCH FREEMASON.
The Eai-1 of Cassillis^heir of the .Marquis of Ailsa, the descendant of a famous fine of Scottish chieftains, and one of the world's leading Freemasons, arrived in Wellington last evening by the Maunganui from Sydney. His visit to Australia and New. Zealand has been undertaken solely in the interests of Scottish Royal Arch- Masonry. It is his intention to visit as many of the lodges of the Chapter as is possible in the time at his disposal. He will remain in New Zealand about ten days, and on his return to New South Wales will spend about three weeks there, visiting the various lodges of the Chapter. Afterwards he will proceed to Queensland, and later will return to Scotland, via Japan and the United States, visiting lodges at Hong Kong and Shanghai en route. The Countess of Cassillis, who will accompany her husband on part of his tour in New Zealand, is the daughter of Sir Mark M'Taggart Stuart. During the war she served as a nurse in France, and holds four long-service stripes. The Earl of Cassillis leaves for Dunedin by the Maori this evening. /
