At Chamonnix, the contest for the 1500 metres speed skating Olympic race resulted: Thunberg (Finland), 1, time, limn 20 4-ssec; Larsetr (Norway), 2, time, lm'in 22 B ec. 10,000 metres, Skutnabb (Finland), 1, time 18min 4sec; Thunberg (Finland), 2, .time, 18min 7 4-Ssoc. The general classification in the four speed skating events is as follows: Thunberg (Finland), 1; Liirsen (Norway), 2; Skutnabb (Finland), 3. The classifications by nations gives Finland 48£ points, Norway 39 points, ahd the United Stateß 11 points.
AUSTRALIAN CREW SELECTED,
SYDNEY, 28th January. The Selection Committee of the Australian Rowing Association has selected the Murray Bridge crew to represent Australia at the Olympic Games. The selection is subject to any State having the right to challenge the Murray Bridge crew to a test race. Bull has been selected for the sculls, subject to the same condition.
