EXTENSIVE GRASS FIRE
SHEEP BURNT AND PASTURAGE DESTROYED.
(BY lEUGRAPH.—PRESS ABSOCUTIOK.) BLENHEIM, 28th January. An extensive graßs-fire broke out on the Blenheim frontage of the Marlborough hills and spread over jnany miles of sheep country, embracing several runs, and destroyed a big acreage of sheep food. A few sheep were burned, one stack of hay and some plantations were destroyed. Hundreds of firefighters were engaged from all quarters. The fire was suppressed in the evening.
